Marriage is a personal or social affair-Discuss.

I personally think that marriage is a personal affair.

Before going into the topic I want to make the meanings of “personal affair” and “private affair”. These are relative terms and may vary from occasion to occasion. In English no word is perfect in its meaning and the word convey its sense depending on the other person who perceives it, like some people may like what I say and others may not. So, personal and social affairs are no exemption.

Marriages are purely personal affairs, in which each and every member of the family comes together and enjoy themselves. Personal affairs again may vary like some people may think that is their personal thing and some people think that is their family’s thing i.e., each and every one has the role to play which is not the case with the former one. Marriages from Indian point of view some may think as a social affair and some may not. In East, it’s purely their personal matter.

Going back to our roots, where marriage is celebrated as a social affair, where each and every one in that village or from that locality comes and enjoy the occasion. Buts its not case today. Every thing changes with time and we to need to change and every one should respect others feelings.

I consider festivals and days of national importance as social affairs. Social affairs are meant for several reasons like to bring people together from different communities together and tie them together under a common tag like for example our Independence day, where we, the Indians celebrate it, forgetting all other things, the only thing that strikes in our mind is that we are INDIANS.

Finally I want to conclude the topic by saying that marriage purely personal thing.
